Abstract

Preventive medicine in cardiovascular diseases has transformed clinical outcomes by targeting modifiable risk factors across primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention, yet cardiovascular disease remains the leading global cause of death despite effective therapies. This article reviews contemporary strategies spanning lifestyle interventions, pharmacologic prevention, and structured post‑procedural care, and contrasts their impact in patients with structural cardiovascular disease after surgery and those with somatic rhythm disorders such as tachycardia. Using illustrative datasets, we apply chi‑square tests and logistic regression to compare event rates and risk reduction across preventive strategies, highlighting differential benefits in coronary artery disease, heart failure, and atrial and ventricular tachyarrhythmias. The narrative emphasizes guideline‑directed lipid and blood pressure management, cardiac rehabilitation, and rhythm control, and concludes with practice‑oriented recommendations for integrated, lifelong prevention.
