Long-Term Traumatological Outcomes in Post-Covid-19 Patients: A Three-Year Comparative Study from Private Hospitals in Fergana

This retrospective cohort study evaluated post-COVID-19 traumatological outcomes over three years in three private hospitals in Fergana. A total of 124 patients admitted with traumatological diseases were compared with 124 contemporaneous patients admitted to the internal medicine department without major trauma. The study focused on musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and thromboembolic sequelae after prior SARS-CoV-2 infection and their association with bone fragility, functional status, and in-hospital outcomes. Clinically relevant variables included age, sex, comorbidity burden, prior COVID-19 history, severity scores, bone mineral density (BMD) z-scores, pain and fatigue scales, venous thromboembolism (VTE), ICU admission, length of stay, and mortality. Trauma patients showed a higher prevalence of previous COVID-19, lower BMD, and more severe pain and fatigue, alongside longer hospitalization and more intensive care needs. These findings suggest that prior COVID-19 infection may exacerbate musculoskeletal fragility and complicate the course of trauma admissions. Tailored assessment and multidisciplinary rehabilitation may be required in post-COVID trauma care.
